Ingredients required
500 g mutton kheema (minced mutton)
3 tablespoons oil
2 medium onions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
2 tomatoes, finely chopped or pureed
2 green chillies, finely chopped (optional)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1½ teaspoons coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt – to taste
½ cup water (as needed)
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Step-by-step process
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds (whole spices). Stir it for a minute.
- Add 2 finely chopped medium onions and green chillies to the oil and saute until it turns golden brown.
- Next add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell of it disappears.
- Add finely chopped tomatoes or you can also opt for tomato puree as per your choice, cook until it softens and the oil gets separated.

- Now it is time for us to add the mutton kheema (minced mutton) along with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- Mix all the ingredients well and let cook for 7-10 minutes on medium heat.
- The mutton kheema starts getting tender and softer.
- Now add water to the mutton kheema, cover it with a lid and cook on low flame for 20-30 minutes until the kheema turns completely soft and cooked completely.
- Finally, add garam masala and mix well for about 2-3 minutes for a thicker consistency.

- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
